Folding Kombi seat issue.

Can anyone help please?
Got a 2+1 set up and the single has a problem. The handle on the side isn't operating the mechanism that allows it to fold forward for rear access. I can see the cable is loose and has a metal clip attached to the bottom of it that I'd say should fit into the mechanism.
Has anyone had the same and how do I reveal the mechanism to reattach it?
Seems too trivial to warrant a 4hr round trip to the dealer.

This is the clip that's detached. I took the plastic trim off but it was just a metal plate underneath with no sign of what the clip locates into....any ideas?

Im in at thedealers on the 4th Oct so will let you know. I have taken off the plastic trim but it seems to just cover a metal plate that you still cant see the mechanism??
Have you tried?

Mine has just done exactly the same.
If I could get the seat out, I could probably fix it.
Once you take off the plastic cover, you are faced with a metal plate and you have no access.

Well, I’ve been at the dealership for about an hour an a half and the seat problem looks like a difficult one.

They didn’t fix my seat. Needs a part ordering apparently.

This has happened to my van. Did the dealer cover it under warranty? I’m concerned that I might get bill as my seats have been re-trimmed?

The dealer covered mine under warranty. I had three all day trips before I had to leave it and someone dropped it off.
Low and behold, if didn’t work, so I got my toolkit out, loosened all the bolts, realigned it and got it to work.
It’s now out of the van permanently !

Mines like this , seat won’t come out or move forward , it’s been fixed twice and it’s gone again . if the seat wasn’t re trimmed I would buy a replacement but I still can’t get this one out so I’m stuck .
It’s going for a service soon at a independent VW Van specialist so I will see if they can sort it .

Mines the same too felt a bit of tension on the lever the other day and sounded like a cable popped off the mechanism. Taking it to dealer would be a nightmare so going to have a crack myself at stripping it down.
