From Vito Sport To Transporter Kombi

Yep that has crossed my mind  Thing is, the lining isn't just cosmetic. It repels heat (van stood in sunny car parks) and another layer is sound deadening. So I quite fancied having it fitted. My first van was beyond 'oven-like' when I used to return to it and open the tailgate. Most people on this Forum probably know all about that. So, I'm all for anything that can be done to help with that.

I've got a plan with the way I'm going to fit out the back which should really help protect it. Plus, I won't be acting as a taxi for any mates who don't get the fact that I actually give a sh*t about my property ...... I'm one of those "if I'd wanted a Skip, I'd have bought one" type of people :D

The trouble is that you can be taken for granted if you have a van, and certainly in the case of mountain biking.
I've been mountain biking in some form or other since 1987, and in all that time I have only heen given a lift to a trail ONCE. But I admit that I prefer to take my van as its just so practical for putting bikes in and getting changed in.
My 2015 Vivaro is still the preferred mule for UK trips for up to 3 of us.
Keep the van/MTB pictures coming once you get it.

You've hit the nail on the head for me there. I love using a van and my own van (started years ago with the bike rack) - hence the investment in this T6. The bikes are secure inside for travelling/stopping for coffee, no road grime on your Kashima, rotors, pads, all your kit is in your van in it's proper place, instead of in and out of your car in boxes, you actually have all your kit in the van, can take a few bikes very easily and like you say, easy to get changed in. I'm sure I've missed many other benefits !!

The only problem, although I generally don't mind this one, is there's always someone (in a car) who comes and says "sorry mate, have you got a shock pump / track pump / long allen key set / torx set / first aid kit / pedal spanner / muc off hand wipes ........ had them all and more

I'd agree with that comment fully, but like you, i'd possibly insist I use my van anyway. It's even worse when you have a Motorhome too. My mates look at me for their yearly weekend away in different locations around the UK in the MH which I love by the way, and as much as i'd protest about them taking advantage of my good nature, inside i'm actually really excited we get to have a lads weekend of cycling.
I'm the only one with a van and a MH, so it's always me driving with all the MTBs for the Sherwood pines runs, and me driving the MH for the weekend road bike trips. Secretly I don't mind though! Just don't tell my mates.

I hear you there, it used to be very intimidating having cars right on top of your back wheel, which sometimes encourages some riders to hug the kerb which is the worst place to ride on such thin tyres.
However, i'm used to it now, and we tend to pick routes right out in the country away from the morons, and normally early on Sunday mornings.

I will never forget riding alone through Leicester on a Sunday morning, when I had a typical lowlife skim past inches from my legs, only to pull right next to him at the lights. What he didn't see was the bobbly in the unmarked BMW who pulled the other side of me and asked if i'd like him to have a 'chat' about his style of aggressive driving. To which the lowlife went a very nice shade of pale and said he was really sorry to me, and I said 'Nah, leave it, I think he's learnt his lesson'
Sadly the bobbly said, 'sorry mate, i'm a cyclist too, and I think this chap needs a word in his ear' Brilliant.
