Front window blockout curtain casstette

Hi All
This is my first post on the T6 Forum. I get so much information reading this Forum so, thank you.
However, my question that I have may had been answered in the part, I apologise if it is a repeat.
I have a VW Transporter 6.1 4motion LWB 450 ordered back in April 2022.
My question that I found hard to find an answer to is - in the New 6.1 California they have a 'rollout cassette blockout curtain' in the interior pillars of the cabin that rolls out across the interior of the front windscreen from each pillar from the passage side and driver side and meet in the middle.
I was wondering if it is possible to retrofit this system into a new Transporter 6.1 front pillars.
if so, is it difficult to remove the exciting pillar covers and fit the cassettes or is there airbags that prevent this in the pillars.
And is there a company out there that supplies an aftermarket anyone

It would be a fairly simple retro fit if you can get the parts but you will need more than just the A pillars. There is a hook/clip receiver in the centre of the screen on the dash and roof. I’m not sure if these are separate parts or integrated into the dash/mirror housing.

Nobody makes an aftermarket solution

I drive past a neighbours big camper van each day and see his awesome integrated blinds across his windscreen and side doors. This reminds me to google to see if an aftermarket solution fit T6 has been brought out, but there seems to be nothing at all available,
Surely this is something that vanshades, or one of their competitors could do well to design and manufacture!

As a matter of interest what do the Californias do about the privacy on the drivers and passenger windows?

Hi Samo thank you for your comments. I agree with you that you would think Van shades would be jumping all over this on and cover all the windscreen in the Transporter range especially the 6.1. It is the most practical solution instead of having cup marks all over the windscreen and the other cabin windows each morning, from using the other sorts of privacy blinds. Yes they have there purposes to keep the heat or cold in or out. But for convenience of this system is far more practical purpose for everyday use. How do you post this discussion so more people make comment and so manufacturers like Van shade or other manufacturers get the hint there would be a demand for this system. Cheers

I have a wrap around cab curtain, think it was from THQ. Uses popper studs and takes a minute to put in place.

Hi Deaky thank you for your reply. I was watching a video today on Transporter HQ on how to install a click & play Alpine system and they installed the tweeters in the Apiller it does seem pretty simply. However, at the end of the video they did say the dashboard is higher in the 6.1. Never the less sorely there are manufacturing engineers out there that could design a cassettes blockout blind to suit the 6.1. Sorely we are not the only ones who would see the practically Of seeing an aftermarket product like the California has. Someone is suppling it to VW.

This didn’t work unfortunately. I picked up the a pillars with the blinds but they didn’t fit. The top of the trims seemed different when test fitted them.

When I looked at a cali in the dealers I realised the difference was the headlong as the cali has a pop top.
