Fuel sender help!

Hey all, I've pulled out my fuel sender and it fell apart as I pulled it out.
Can anyone confirm the guide pin with the spring is in the right place?
It doesn't really want to stay together and the yellow top half doesn't sit square.

Finally found a picture of that side of the fuel sender - all good.

Except now I can't get the locking ring back on without cross-threading it.

I thought that would be the easy bit!

Yeah, thank you. I've got the sender propped into place with a bit of wood wedged under the van so there's no force on the ring except mine.
I'll go back at it with a calmer version of myself and feel the thread.

I was also trying to be quick, dropping just one end of the tank. That could have warped the opening

Thanks mate, I needed that!
It was the seal, just not quite sitting right.

All back together now. Half a tank of fuel was a bit of a wrestle with one arm (plot twist) and the aux feed bled itself all the way to the pump

All back together with an ammo box for the heater box. It circulates air from one side to the other, leaving plenty of room for a hot water matrix inside and space for an engine pre-heater where the factory-fit parking heater normally is.
I just need to fab up a cowl/belly basher to cover the pipes, which had to face forward.
SWB - I need all the space I can get!

No doubt the muffler will collect water like that, so I'll either move it or drill it

Autoterm silencer? They seem to be the only ones that don't have a drainage hole. Handy for boat installation but wrong for vehicle use. I would just drill a small hole at the lowest point.

Just to add to the story, I've just about finished making the battery for it (and the rest).
314ah LiP04 will fit under my driver seat (non swivel)

That's the top, facing us. And the top we can see, I intend to have towards the front. For access. from the back of the seat.
Heat pads below ally plate underneath.
Temp probes from BCM are taped on top.
There will be some warm air from either side of the cells affecting the probes, but I intend to insulate and adjust parameters accordingly
