Has anyone got any novel methods for fixing the top portion of full height ply panels on the barn and sliding doors.

I don’t like the idea of screwing them in.

I’m sure I’ve seen some brackets that could be riveted to the frame to enable the use of OEM style panel clips but can’t find them anywhere.

The doors are not really designed for single panels. The lower one is recessed in on the door. Upper panels are seperate and fitted into the window aperture

Ok thank you.

How might I fit separate panels in the upper apertures, without screwing them in, and with enough clearance for curtains?

Thanks.

Oh and these are the brackets I mentioned. I believe they are Kombi fitment

The rear sides have full height panels. Im confused as to why you want to fit panels and then curtains also. No need for a curtain with a panel in place.....

Because the panels have got window apertures, but are still full height....

Like this. (Not my van)

Ok, we dont do the doors that way as the rubber door seal needs to sit against the metal body of the van not carpet as in this image, plus you cant finish the carpet properly on the edges. We do the lower panel only and fit curtains in normal fashion or blinbds.

A big problem doing it the way in the photo above is that water soaks through the carpet which is why people usually do it as Eclipse said.

Thanks guys, that's not what I'm asking though.

I'm aware of this part, its the fixing to the top of the door/aperture that I want to know more about.

I.e. how to do it without using self tapping screws!

Any fixing you use will need holes. You could use the angle brackets but this will be rivited on place or svrews with caps, hidden screws or hidden fixings.

I've figured it out. Thanks.
I just want something a little more professional then just self tappers wazzed in.

I'll drill the ply panels in the required place for hidden trim clips and then I'm going to use small alloy brackets with a hole to accept a the trim clip and rivet the bracket to the window/door frame.

I'm fitting some custom Ikea blinds behind them and once in the right place will be suede lining the panels.

i left the carpet behind the panels and leveled off with insulation underneath when i lined and using 25 mm stick backed Velrco to hold the panels on its working but not perfect sliding door panel sometimes starts coming away someone in here fitted strips and used normal hidden clips to fix into think that's the best idea so far

I'd personally make the lower panel as standard and then make a recessed upper panel for the blind surround, you an the fix the surround in seperately. Good luck.

I just used some sikaflex to bond those white plastic oblong joiner boxes to the body of the van and then screwed into those
