Hi all. I'll soon be taking delivery of a brand new T6 SWB panel van. Lovely (except it's taken 25 years to save up).

So. I'm doing most of the conversion myself but want to buy a flat pack kitchen / cupboard unit that will accommodate a RIB 130 slider (3 seats) but at the same time allow the drivers seat to swivel round. I also want a fridge in there somewhere (but would compromise on a smaller capacity) but defo a sink and probably a 2 burner hob.

I've found one good supplier (Evo Designs), but wanted to know if anyone else had this dilemma and who they used as a supplier.

I guess I could always make it myself but the wife won't be happy. Best stick with the quicker option.

Any suggestions (And photos) would be extremely welcome. Thanks all. Chris

Hi just a few newbie tips, if you want to get a members attention include their user name but use the @ in front, @Dazwoods.
Also if you tap on their details it will show when they were last active on the forum.

Hi @Dazwoods. Thanks for the question. I ended up with what I think if a fantastic combo. Bought a 130 rib slider in fake leather (its brilliant), also a slimline EvoDesigns with rear cupboard (I had to adapt a bit of it though). A large fridge too, but the best was the single burner / sink by CAN (Foldy). Expensive but great if you're not planning on doing much cooking.

The drivers captain seat does swivel around eventually but it's a bit of a juggle. But at least we can get 5 in there around a table quite comfortably.

I didn't go for a webasto or diesel heater and stuck with 12v heating and 240v. Works fine. Loads of insulation and soundproofing. Loads of LEDs too, under the RIB worked well and around the roof area. I went for a Skyline roof (before upgrade version), but perhaps still should have pushed for a HiLo. Oh well, at least the difference will pay for some wider wheels one day.

Hope that helps. All the best.

Hi @Chris Spurr Thanks for the reply. It looks like you did a really good job. I presume that the cupboards are the Evo 1300 E Slim. I have been looking at that one. I have got my rib ordered and Skyline roof booked in for February. Its nice to know the drivers seat will still swivel even 90 degrees should do. I am going to look at the sink/hob. I must have have done 6 electrical diagrams now . Enjoying the build so far though. Many thanks.

Hi. Yes it was the Evo 1300 E. I went for the small cupboard over the unit, but perhaps should have gone for the shelf instead. Also just a thought, but the rear high cupboard over the boot area (if you go for it) is really quite small and to be honest I keep hitting my head on it when getting up from the bed. I do have my speakers in there though... Mind out though, the units scratch easily.

Plan out your electrics, and lay in plenty of contingency cabling. Label everything up as well, with good quality tags.

Thanks for your help. That hob/sink looks fantastic and an ideal space saver. I had never seen one.

Hi Chris. We ended up finding a local shop fitting firm that have gone into making the furniture so decided to go with them, they are very helpful and the furniture is good. This is being manufactured at the moment. It seems that the square Can foldy has been discontinued unfortunately but we have bought the circular one. The van is having the pop top fitted at the moment so it is all systems go.
I am wanting to ask one last question if I may. I was wondering where you have located your gas bottle ?

Hi Dazwoods. I ended up getting one of the multi sided gas lockers, and cut out the base of the unit the lockers located on the bottom right of the van rear, easily accessible from inside. Youd need to cut out the air vent I the floor too, and also use copper pipe inside the van (you cant use rubber). Just a tip, put in two copper pipes.... send some photos if you can....

Hi Chris thanks for that. It is probably the best place without taking up needed space. Good to see it does not obstruct the under bed storage access. My units will be pre built rigid so I think I will wait until they are finished before making final decision. I have a twin slider so I was going to see if I could access the gas from there. I think it will take up too much space though. Why two copper pipes ?
I did sound deadening and electrics over Christmas and then had to stop and wait for roof installation so not much to see at the moment. I will put some pictures on when kitchen is installed.

Copper pipes meet regulations for a camper. Rubber would not pass (I'm told)..... also if you're fitting an under slung fresh water tank, I'd put the inlet for it underneith one of the tail lights. Check out
. I put mine inside the van stupidly, and this is my next job to change. Wish you well.

Hi Guys, we can offer bespoke furniture for you alongside our standard furniture. Can tweak your designs to make work for specific needs.
Cheers

Hi @Chris Spurr looking good. I just ordered the evo slim B units and wanted to check what fridge you use?
The reason being is that I'm also getting a rib 130 bed that may be fitted before the kitchen. Evo reckon their is a bit of space with my units so fitting bed first is ok but advise fitting as close to left and back as possible.

@Dazwoods is that the can fldy hob/sink i see on your pic?

Can i ask what tap you use with it? I picked one up on ebay and don't like the tap as impossible to turn on/off when fitted!

Cheers

Hi, there were not many options of taps. I was offered the sink with a Can tap already fitted to it so I took it. It has no micro switch though so I had to buy a shurflo pump but it works great.I got the sink and tap from camper interiors.co.uk
