Hi,

I have a factory 9 seat startline window van. According to Pauly it is a spec only available to approved converters. In the back it has the engine plumbed auxiliary heater with its own controls on the dash.

I’m currently sound proofing and fitting new carpet covered ply panels. While doing this I noticed the o/s rear quarter panel had been cut at the factory to fit the heater.

I just thought I should highlight this if any of you are buying a van with one of these heaters with a view to removing it. There will be some sections of the wheel arch to re-instate to mirror the profile on the other side.

Pics below should hopefully show the sections removed:-

I was out in it yesterday and found the hoses to the rear heater red hot when the heater controls set to cold.

I think the unit in the rear controls the hot / cold air output. Had it on cold / blow this week and definitely blowing cold air.

I’d kind of assumed there would be a valve to shut off the water flow.

mechanic says you need to loop pipe under van when doing away with rear ac, also disconnect pipes at bulkhead
