Gaps on floor ply after removing bulkhead retainers, solution?

Hi,

New to the forum and conversion.

I have removed the bulkhead retainers from my T6 (t28 trandline) Kombi converted, insulated the floor and I am now going to re-fit the floor ply on top.

I have however noticed that there is a gap between the back of the front seats and the ply, see the picture

The same on the other side (behind the driver's seat)

What would you suggest?

i am not keen to buy a new ply as I am trying to recycle as much material as I can. Note that the old vynil residual will be removed before installing it ;)

Cheers

Trace the shape on paper and cut some new ply same thickness and pop it in the location I doubt you’ll be standing at this point if your that keen and can remove the floor you could biscuit joint it too

Also if you get a van- x step ( I think that’s what there are called) they are deeper and will go over the ply floor and look neater

New floor mate fitted properly and a new side step as it should be on top of floor. The standard ply is not good and any deviations will show through vinyl floor.

Thanks guys!

I think I'll ask the neighbor to cut for me this two little pieces, and I might glue them to the main ply before screwing down

Thanks for the suggestion but I am not sure if it will clear the setup I have got which is a 5mm insulation +12mm ply and 3mm vinyl (total 20mm rise). However, in measuring all the 3 layers it seems that insulation is more like 3mm (squeezed) and vinyl 2.5mm, so it will be 17.5mm in total. Will the Van-x fit or should I go for a Caravelle one? Cheers

They say it is 17 mm higher but I’ve got one and have a higher floor and just put washers under it with fur tree clips rather than trim clips and it’s fine don’t know how deep caravelle ones are

Gret idea, I have ordered one too.

I am going to glue the bits to the main floor ply tomorrow and post some pics :)
