Gear cables

Sorry if I’m being dumb but I can’t see how you remove the gear cables from the gearbox casing. I’ve removed the ends from the selector and I’m trying to pry them off the gearbox but I don’t want to break them.

Any idea how they come off?

For anyone searching in the future; there’s a “plunger” type affair in the middle that you push in to release them from their cage.
