2023 DSG.

I'm parked on slight incline on my driveway. Select D. Slowly release brake then BOOM! It's like the emergency brake has come in.

Several times this has happened.

It's scarey. Only from a stand still. What am I doing wrong? Please explain the + and -? Triptronic.

Okay, select the lock button to move from P to D. The lock button doesn't have to be pressed if N to D and back?

I'm a few months in using DSG.

What is locking when I come to enormous stop? Brakes? F*ck have I don't any damage? Thanks

I would hazard a guess at the collision avoidance system is kicking in as it senses the road ahead.
I have had my anchors slammed on because a car turned to the left in front of me, me going down an incline and him going up one. Apparently Mr VW doesn't understand that!

If you keep a slight touch on the brake Mr VW thinks that you are in control and it doesn't happen.

I get this on my drive. It’s the incline combined with 60mm lowering in my case. Hope this helps.

Their would be no other reason? It's like a huge thud! Brakes slamming on.
I thought it was my gear selection.
Sliding selector into D but accidentally over to right into Triptronic gear.

I need to resolve this as it scared crap out of me I don't want any damage.

Once I went slowly down my road and brakes slammed in. If another car was behind me it would've careered into the rear.

Lowering?

I have air suspension. I have it on lowest drive setting. So now starting off I have it on high setting. Maybe it's the height of the bumper directed to ground. Though it happened in Devon. My mate drove and had to do a u turn. So he reversed up a bit then selected D and as he moved forward it happened again. He sh*t himself.

Do you get the front sensors beeping whilst slowly moving down incline ? My only option is to approach at a slight angle rather than head on. I guess you could get the front sensor checked / realigned ?

I'll listen out for warning beep.

Can you confirm it's nothing to do with DSG?

Manoeuvre barking? If you have the option in the parking menu try it turned off. Doesn’t sound like a DGS issue. If you don’t know what the various selections do on DDG have a read of the manual. It explains it all in detail.
