So I've had my replacement 204 LWB Kombi for a couple of months now. After some initial worries on MPG, which have since evaporated as its just got steadily better and better, I'm properly starting to love this van, I may even come to love it as much as my old T5.
No more engine/DPF warning lights, no more 4/5 regens per tank, no more 30 mile journeys using a quarter of a tank, no more weird DSG comedy gear changing (divisive I know), and most importantly, no more getting in it with an impending sense of doom.
I still say VW should hang their heads in shame for the lengths they will go to to look for for any chance of plausible deniability when it comes to dealing with faults and issues, but if this new van keeps me out of their way, then that will be just fine by me.
