Evening. So I have posted in the new members area to say hi but I thought I would start a thread on our new (to us) Caravelle Generation Six Edition.
The family has named her Bonnie. We have had her over a month now and as I have done with previous vehicles (T4, T5, Caddy to name but a few), I have been gradually going through her in slower time getting to know her and sorting a few things out gradually.
Spend a day cleaning her out top to.bottom, inside and out. Clay bar, Polish and wax. (Wouldn't know it now after a couple of weeks of the lanes and M4/M25)
First this was pulling parts together to sling a spare wheel under the rear. Done.
Then sorted out the passenger side electric sliding door that changed its mind about closing a few times. That was a case of replacing the bottom roller assembly. Quick and easy job with the right tools. (Star bits) the nylon wheel was completely missing, so metal on metal....
The drivers side is now have a moment at times (button on thr dash flashing amber) so I think thay might be a microswitch getting tired?
I did have an impulse buy moment after trying to find them cheaper... I forked out for a pair of Generation Six badges... most expensive plastic I have ever purchased I think! Looks good though, I think.
Only niggle left is a slight clunk from the front suspension but having got the front off the ground this morning and checked over the drop links and all the bushes, all seems well there but a possible light misting from drivers side shock.
In doing so though I did see some oil on the engine near whay I think is the crank case seal.... have wiped it and will keep a close eye.
So will keep an eye on that, but I would line to build a low level rear storage cabinet for the boot area for a bit more storage but also for a splitcharge system. (More of a mobile office and kits devices than camping), but I'll keep this thread up to date with that.
