HI All, Im looking for some advice on my beloved MKIV Golf.... The head unit in my Golf has stopped working, intermittently, more off than on so im having to use an ipod and speaker on the seat to play tooones, so I wonder if someone out there can suggest something.
I have an Alpine DAB head unit and have had that checked by the Alpine repair centre and its fine. They suggested it is probably a short on the one of the speakers that is causing the head unit to constantly reset itself; it started only resetting on higher audio levels or a peak screaming guitar, but now seems only to come on for a second before resetting and going off again. So armed with a basic voltmeter, can someone suggest what might be the best way to figure out where the fault might be and how to get at the potential replacement cables through....
Im only really ready to try doing this myself since getting the van!!
