Grill and Bumper Trims. Abs vs Aluminium

Hi all. I am just about to pick up a T6 highline in candy white and to stop it looking so whitevanman ish I want to add a red trim to the bumper and lower grill. I see there are abs plastic versions and powder coated alloy versions available. The abs appear to replace the existing Vw parts whereas the alloy ones are stuck on with tape.
Which ones are best? Both cost about the same.
