GTT front bumper

Hi guys I had a bit of spare time this afternoon so I thought I would have a look at assembling the parts of the GTT front bumper. They supply a bag of various size screws plastic rivets etc but no instructions of what goes where so i phoned Travelin lite earlier in the week to ask if they could help they said they would get back to me but nothing happened nice customer service when you’ve spent almost £2000 with them.
Decided to message THQ who relplied same day and directed me to a video on their website which was very helpful so full marks to THQ . Assembled the various lower grill parts then started on the LH and RH base plates which support the fog lights THQ say to use the 6mm plastic push rivets supplied to attach them to the bottom of the bumper ok simple but no the holes are 8/10mm so rivets just drop out. Decided to use some bolts and washers instead which worked fine, next install fog lights with the plastic 3D printed mounting pieces what a load of crap they were flimsy pieces of rubbish so had to get into engineering mode to sort it out. Sorry to bore everyone with this but just to say if you buy one of these bumpers be prepared to do some fettling . Maybe it’s just me but I like parts to be fitted securely and stay fitted.IMG_2205.jpegIMG_2207.jpegIMG_2206.jpegIMG_2209.jpegIMG_2208.jpegIMG_2211.jpegIMG_2213.jpegIMG_2214.jpeg

Hi mate I think the actual bumper is pretty good but the fixings do let it down hopefully the fit up and body lines will be good as you probably agree it’s the finished job that’s important.:D

After spending that sort of money I’d expect it to be an easy fix!

Hi Jay thanks for your comment luckily it was fairly easy to fix but certainly not for anyone who doesn’t have any experience in fixing /modifying stuff . I was surprised that Travelin lite didn’t reply as I also bought their RS rear bumper I hope that fits properly but I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to do a bit of fettling .

Every time I've bought something from travelin lite, there's been some kind of quality or aftercare issue.

Hi Phil I’ve had similar experience they used to be pretty good in the past but now it’s difficult to get them to answer the phone and then they say they will get someone to call you back which if you’ve got your van taken apart isn’t very helpful.:(

Hi mate hope you had a good Christmas and new year, I am waiting on a change in the weather to make a start on it I hate the cold so may delay for a while.

Yeah I kind of keep forgetting how cold it is back home at the minute.
I work outdoors I.e. I don't work through the winter as it's too damn cold for me . I'm a big wuss that hurts too much when it turns cold .

Same here retired last spring I’m now 66 and I was self employed for most of my working life so had to work out in all weathers because not working meant no pay . I worked all over the country usually away from home so it’s nice to be able to take my time and do things when I fancy. :)

Travelin lite used to be pretty good but the 'OE quality' of their folding mirror kit is a lie and the fog lights I bought that the drivers side 'fogged up' .
Van x surely have the medal for the worst customer service EVER I refused to use them years ago . Utter garbage!
