help with seatbelt needed

somehow the seatbelt buckle has come off the frontpassenger side seat in my T6, I am not sure how but I think the securing bolt has fallen off (or been sheared off in which case I might be having words with my kids) -- I took the seat off to have a look and see if it was an easy fix but I can't see an easy way to reach in and re-secure the bolt (I also don't quite know where that bolt has gone).

I still have the buckle its intact.

so questions
1. any easy way to secure the buckle again - do I have to take the moulding off the seat ?
2. what bolt would I need to buy

Any suggestions links to videos etc would be handy

If it's a standard captains seat there's no way it will have come away without someone undoing it and it shouldn't look like that picture - that's from a double seat. I fear it may be a so-called "converted" driver's seat (which cannot be "converted"). Seems lucky this didn't happen in a crash.

Send us a photo of the seat it has come off.

Pete

Above are the pictures of the actual one rather than one taken from the internet again any advice how to reattach gratefully received

You are going to have to remove that plastic moulding. The bolt is probably in there inside it.

I thought that might be the case anyone have any good suggestions about how to get that off without trashing it

Well I know that the seat adjuster knobs just pull off as I fitted a seat swivel recently and I didn’t pump the seat up before I tried to swivel it and the seat adjuster pulled off. So I would think the rest would be held on with clips or screws.

Trim tools, buy some if you don‘t have them. They will have plenty of use on a T6!

@slimsurf I would guess that the centres of the adjustment knobs is a good starting point for removal. Almost certainly some screws under the round covers.

@slimsurf Apologies, I missed the pics. So it does look very very odd. I guess that is a non-height adjusting passenger seat from the cutout for the seat belt buckle.

To remove the trim, first...

1. get a long flat screwdriver and, from the rear of the seat, lever loose the black ring inside the recline knob, which should then pop off in the process.

2. Undo the plastic torx screw from under the front of the seat.

3. Pull off the lumbar knob. If it doesn't just pull off (pull hard and straight), use a long flat screwdriver down the inside of the plastic cover and lever the knob out from along the shaft. It will pop off eventually and won't be damaged. Better this way than working on the outside and damaging the knob cosmetically.
4. Then the plastic cover will pull off sideways from two clips. They don't break if you pull sideways and are quite forgiving.

N.B. your plastic trim is rare, don't mess it up :-D

To refit the trim, reverse the steps...

1. Push the plastic cover back on, seating the two clips into the holes.
2. Reattach the plastic torx screw under the front.
3. Simply push the lumbar knob back on until it clicks (align the splines to the shaft).

4. Rebuild the recline knob by clicking the black ring inside the knob (see pictures for alignment).
5. Push the recline knob back on by hooking one side of it over the recline gear and pushing hard to seat the rest of the knob onto the gear. The plastic rings are quite robust and shouldn't break, and there's lots of ebay if it goes wrong.

Rebuild the recline knob by clicking the black ring inside the knob (see pictures for alignment).

Does anyone have the part number for the black ring inside the recline knob? I have a new knob to fit but it won't stay on as I have also broken the black ring....
