Another little point guide as this was a task I had to do this weekend. You also might need to do it to retrofit a tailgate.

There's a couple of options here depending on whether you want to retain the loom within the door, or move the loom to another barn door or tailgate.

If you want to leave the loom in the door you simply disconnect it from behind the nearside rear quarter wall lining. You will need to remove the nearside rear quarter wall lining first.

Pop off the nearside barn door hose grommet on the van side to reveal the white cables. Then disconnect the attached connector in the nearside rear quarter pillar.

Otherwise, here's How to remove the loom from the nearside barn door (wing door) on a T6
First, remove the door card.

Disconnect the number plate lighting connector, the locking assembly connector and the bottom latch connector down inside the bottom of the door

Lever off carefully the loom clips.

Undo the torx screws on the back of the door to release the high level brake lights ( How to remove the high level brake lights on the barn doors on a T6 ).
Disconnect the loom and feed it down the hole in the door.

The loom should now be free and you can pull it through the holes from the hose end.
(barn door shown here without the lock assembly carrier, exterior lock and trim panel).

Finally, to remove the door from the van, release the check strap and undo the spline bolts on the van. I undid two out of three from each hinge, and then got a mate to support the door whilst I released the check strap and took the last bolts off the hinges.

Reverse the instructions to fit a new barn door. And you may need to remove and refit the lock assembly and exterior trim and lock.

One extra bit of knowledge...when you hang the barn doors back on, the weight of the doors tends to push the lower hinge inwards and the top hinge outwards, leaving the shut gaps like this:

Loosen the bolts and adjust. This is the best I could do today singlehanded, and then I rounded out a spline head trying to do just one more adjustment:confused:
