Can anybody give me there thought on front and rear anti roll bars on a camper van lowered 50mm

Is it worth it and does is make any difference to the ride, not looking at performance really due to it being a camper van and not a fast sporty style van

Thanks

Biggest single improvement we've made to our van .
Turns in when it should and sits flat through the twisty bits.
Our van used to roll around like a boat before but with new suspension and ARB's now it drives like a car .

Thanks for the reply that's good to know

I had some fitted at the same time as H&R/Koni coilovers (lowered about 70mm) so difficult to say what the ARBs alone add to the party. The van does lean slightly less but it is still a lumbering, slow witted 2.3T van with a heavy pop top high up and a rear full of cupboards. In no way would I describe it as car like! Maybe people without a camper conversion get better results.

I would say you would get better results by changing out the stock shocks which struggle with lowered springs (if that’s the set up you are on) as this will improve the ride and stability. Then add ARBs if you feel the need for more lateral control. They shouldn’t change the ride quality much, if at all. Have a chat with Steve at CRS when he is back from Xmas hols.

sure i have a used set doing nothing in the garage i bought in error from another member but its for a t6.1 (i have a t6) - dm if you are interested

I swapped out the ARB's before fitting our bilstein kit and the change was clear from the off .
Ours is a tin top camper , no high level cupboards and b14's on their lowest setting .
ARB'S are on their tightest setting after trying both options , went straight back to the tightest.

I’d say they made a significant contribution to the general handling/ride improvement on ours, but that’s combined with the coilovers we had from @CRS Performance specific for the weight of our van

Have a word with Steve at CRS Performance.. he's on this site , or any of the other well regarded suspension guys. We changed our H&R 40mm dropped standard suspension for Koni Sport Shocks ..and didn't get roll bars.. the difference to the drive, road holding, bump suppression, cornering roll etc was so good its the very first thing i'll do to the next van..way before tarting it up with big wheels etc etc,

Thanks for the reply

I'm guessing there will be improvements but does it out way the cost
All ARBs will do is stop some lean. Shocks and springs appropriate to the van load and driving style will make a far bigger difference to ride, handling and stability (including lean). They cost more but bigger results. Id do that first then see if you still feel the need for ARBs.

By the way if you have a T32 you already have upgraded ARBs.
