HalfHeight Bulkhead removal?

Hi

Just about to place an order on a new kombi, but the spec makes me have a '3CQ Half Height bulkhead with padding'.

Is this removable as dont think I want it, but the configurator forces it in with the electric doors (I think).

Is it a big deal to remove - is it an angle grinder job?

Cheers!

Paul

It is welded in so not easy to remove. But you don't need it to get the electric doors, just opt for the child lock instead.

Bum. It is a pre built one that I have found, and it is in the specification list of the vehicle. I guess it can be removed if needed, but just more of a pain? Or is it messy?

Plenty of them get removed, either a small angle grinder or a multi tool with a metal cutting blade- just want to avoid any spark damage !

The main part of the bulkhead is normally removable but leaves right angle brackets spot welded in place that require drilling/grinding off

It's a bit of a pain, use a small grinder and a drill and you should get it out in an hour cleanly. Remember to use a good zinc primer and a sealing coat afterwards
