Has anyone made their own midgie proof side door netting?

Wasn’t sure what section to post this in.
Been looking at the nets you get for the sliding door but none seem to be midgie proof. The mosquito ones are no use as the holes in the mesh needs to be much smaller.
I’ve seen proper midgie proof netting for sale and thinking about ordering enough to make a side door cover and to cut bits to fit over the mesh in the pop top side vents. Probably try make one for the sliding window next to the hob too.
I’ve found some self adhesive magnetic tape that I plan to edge the net with to stick it to the van.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this great idea and how they went about it.
Can see it being essential for our trip up north in July.

I tried a diy solution last year using standard household door fly screens attached under the rubber door seal but gave up as every time the Mrs got in or out she would pull it down.
I’m hoping to stick it to the metal frame with magnetic tape. Then just peel off one side to get in and out.
I’ve ordered everything I need and am going to give it a go.
My daughter makes lots of jewellery, clothes and lots of craft stuff. She’s going to help me and if it’s a success she might start making then as a sideline. They should be cheap enough.
Will see how it goes.

Keep us in the loop!

If you do put some helicopter tape where you're putting magnets - I've already got a bit of scratching where magnets moved on my rear rain guards (and kicking myself as I meant to add tape areas before this season)

We have a self made midge net for the sliding door which uses the midge micro-net.

The net is sized to overlap the door. It attaches at the top to the inside of the rubber door seal with 4 short lengths of Velcro attachment. We spot fix the overlapping sides to the van metalwork by individual magnets, bright orange covers so we can see them. The bottom just hangs over the step. So it’s not ‘sealed’ against midges or flies but works well enough for us. We tried fixing the net with magnetic strip but it didn’t work at all well.

In the van we also use the Outdoor Revolution mosquito light available from different suppliers and which is very good. We have an alternative concentric collapsible one that is much less satisfactory.

Thanks Martin! Mozzie light ordered. If it doesn't work I'll moan at you at Camperfest SummerBusjam Camp! It gets great reviews, but yours means the most!
