I'm new to the forum, so hopefully, I'm posting this in the right place. I just bought a T6.1 Startline LWB 1.9 (2021 reg). The head unit has the capability to allow Apple Play, but this is not enabled. I got a message saying to contact the dealer to get this changed. I called VW, and they said these earlier units did not automatically come with Apple Play (they did subsequently), but they could activate it at a cost of about £350! The new van does not have a reverse camera either, and I'd like to have one installed (doesn't have to be OEM, just cost-effective and compatible with the head unit). So my questions:
1. Does anyone know a cheaper solution to activate the Apple Play?
2. What reasonably priced, good quality, alternative camera system will work with the head unit?
I'm based in Brighton, East Sussex.
