Heater control hrw retrofit, adding the button…

Hi all,

I want to add a heated rear window and wiper to the van….

I have factory installed heated seats, so the heater control panel is more expensive on eBay etc. so I purchased a cheap mk6 golf heater controller, and have stripped it down to remove the heated rear window button. I have then stripped my heater control, which looks exactly the same internally and added the switch.

Switch illumination works for the lights, but the led doesn’t illuminate when I press the switch.

Anyone know if my approach will work? And how I code it in VCDS ???

I have a complete rear wiper assembly if that’s of interest to you.

Gave it a go today, byte 15. Seems to work, light illuminates and I can hear the relay latch. So if you want heated rear window you don’t have to change the heater control, just add the button…. Thanks for the input mmi
