Hello everyone

Just joined the forum, here’s my 2019 T6.
Nothing remarkable here (apart from the lack of being washed), it’s my work van (at work) and it’s pretty standard - apart from a bit of cab sound proofing, better speakers and upgraded front & interior lights.

Looking to ask some questions going forward about making it a bit less vanilla…it is said that there’s no such thing as a stupid question but I haven’t started yet!

Cheers

Dan

Of course, I don't claim a monopoly.

Hi from North Bucks

Finally have taken the leap and bought a T6! I'm new to the vanning community so will welcome any pointers as I take my shuttle through some gentles mods.

It's a daily driver, so going to enjoy driving it first. However, it's currently running 20" alloys and 275/40 tyres which are horribly hard and not at all suitable considering the state of our roads (also 5% larger circumference than OE.......probably not a good starting point). I've read a few posts, but any suggestions on best wheel/tyres for a daily driver are welcome.

All-Season Tires: Choose comfortable all-season tires.
Is the reasoning because all season are more comfortable than summer tyres or just because they are better at muddy fields?

Also, I see some tyres - take the Cross Climates, are available in ‘normal’ and SUV. Even when there is no difference in load rating or obvious visual difference in tread patterns. Is SUV more bulbous/comfortable or does it have thicker sidewalls? Anyone know?

Welcome to the T6 community! I get what you mean about those 20" alloys and stiff tires. Here are some quick tips:

Downsize Wheels: Consider 18" or 19" wheels for a smoother ride.
All-Season Tires: Choose comfortable all-season tires.
Check Tire Pressure: Keep it within the recommended range.
Suspension Upgrades: If needed, explore softer shocks or springs.
Regular Maintenance: Keep your vehicle in good shape.

Find the balance between style and comfort. Enjoy your T6!
Thanks. Been doing a lot of reading and seems 18s are the most popular for comfort, so will likely go that way.

I will say I've not enjoyed a vehicle as much as this one! Loving it! I guess new owners are the ones with the massive grins!

If you go 18” consider 235/55 tyres. They make a nicer and smoother ride compared to oem 255/45/18, they are cheaper and 104H load.

20's are so cool though. 245/45 on the front 275/40 on the rear on cross climate 2 suv's and ideally a trip or conversation at least with Steve @CRS Performance . Turned mine from (as had been said on here) a cross between a space hopper and a pogo stick to a car like drive and very pleasurable experience.
No need to buy new wheels when yours can be transformed, purely by spending money on what you have! 40 pressure all round when not loaded up...

Lots of vans on 20's are comfortable and lots of vans on 16's are not.
Speak to suspension people, message people on here who have already done what you are considering. There is unfortunately a lot of misinformation in this area, some unintentional but some from people who don't want to admit that their own decisions could have been better.
Tyres obviously play a large role, as do the shock absorbers. Springs not as much as you'd think.
There are combinations in any size that work well and I would recommend trying as many as possible before taking the plunge. Most companies will have demonstrators and many local forum members would likely offer a quick demo ride.
As long as you're realistic about your expectations there will be a solution but the decision on what to go for shouldn't be rushed.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll stick with what it has currently and make a few calls in the coming weeks. I see CRS get alot of mentions........
