Help Needed, Unknown Cable?

When lowering my van the other week me and @Kyle lannerz discovered this cable in the o/s upper strut cavity. I have tried to plug it back in but it is 2 male connections there
When plugging the van into Carista it is showing a rain/light sensor fault is it something to do with that?

That looks like the connector that attaches to the heated windscreen element
Im guessing you have had the screen replaced and that has come of the old screen while being removed ??

Ah ok yes that would make sense, I’ve only had the van a few months so it would’ve been replaced before my ownership...... does however mean my heated windscreen won’t work (I’ve not tried it before) that’s a shame!

Further on from this. It suddenly dawned on me the other day that the previous replacement of said windscreen has removed the rain/light sensor and subsequent original rear view mirror to house it all in.
If I wanted to return to oem (windscreen with heated element and sensor) what are my bed options? A costly call to vw?
Any suggestions would be more than welcome.
