Hi all I had a check break symbol come on the dash so I had a look I’m sure it’s the abs wire but as it’s all gone can someone help me and tell me what it is I need ? Thx IMG_1805.jpeg

thats the front pad wear sensor wire.

the ABS wire and sensor go direct to the wheel HUB.

Hi.
The check brake symbol will be for the brake pad wear. It illuminates when the wire in the pad wears through indicating worn brakes or, in this instance if the wires get broken.
The van side of the loom can be repaired, the pad side is typically replaced with new pads.
There is a thread on here detailing the parts required but I cannot remember exactly where.
If the ABS wire or sensor was broken you would see warnings for a host of other functions such as ABS, traction control, cruise control, TPMS as they all use the "ABS" signal for wheel speed.

Edit.
What @Dellmassive said. I missed his post as it took about ten minutes to upload my reply from an Internet black hole somewhere near Hickstead.

Not sure what you need exactly.

You need one of these:

And 2x of the red ones of these to join it to the original wiring that's snapped off:

It shouldn't matter which wire connects to which on the original wiring as its just a looped connection, that is worn through when the pads wear down.

As a bodge, you can twist the wires together to reinstate the loop and cancel the warning light. I have a replacement sensor in my garage - when I get home I’ll post a pic of the part number. (It cost about £50 from VW)

Shouldn't need a pad sensor though, as that looks to be ok and it's just the vehicle loom side that has been damaged.

Correct - it’s the connection back into the loom. Irritatingly, it’s an known weak point
