Hi all, bought an ex-VIP driver Caravelle this weekend. It's lovely! Used to have a T4 Caravelle with Reimo poptop and bed, full width variotech seat, hookup etc and as soon as I sold it I regretted it! This one cost about 3 times more than any other car I've owned so not sure I'll be poptopping it any time soon!

nice, i can't justify a poptop for my van, basic ones look shit and poor quality, the good ones just cost too much.

Hello,

New member here - I've recently bought a 66 plate SWB 150 Caravelle, the forum was essential when choosing it - I hope to learn more and maybe eventually contribute as well. Based in Herts - it's a do everything in one vehicle for us.

Hi I'm Matt, from Hertfordshire - looking for some advice on best way to look for used T6 that have been converted to campers/day vans. Are there specific sites outside this one and ebay that list used T6's - or are there any recommended dealers etc.... I'm looking up to about £30k. Is mileage a big factor in purchasing a used T6 i.e. is anything over 100k miles a no-no or do the engines generally last so long as been serviced etc...?
Incidentally I have a 79 Golf gti (mk1) that I will sell / px to get a T6 camper/day van if anyone in the market!

Thanks and good to meet you all.

Hi thanks for adding me.

I’m really excited to have just got my self an 18 plate T6, however does anyone know if these are supposed to come with an owners manual?

Thanks Rich

Yes, but you'll find this forum far more helpful than the maual which is about 80% health and safey related

As far as I know, a manual came with every van - well mine certainly did.
There is a PDF version in the downloads section of this forum however you do need to be a VIP member (which is brilliant value and highly recommended) in order to view / download.
Hope this helps
Darryl

where did you buy your van from? if it was VW used approved call up the dealer and ask for one I would hope they give it to your free

If you're still looking, there are some really nice vans up for sale on the Forum.....
......I won't list them but a search will find them

Just a quick hello, newbie to T6, but have had a T5 for 8 years. During our last trip out in the van a stray comment of maybe we should look at LWB to 'give us a bit more room as we get a but more mature and cant climb in to the roof bed' was made. This idea gained remarkable momentum and somehow in the space of a month or so we found a van we could afford and she is off to the converters tomorrow!
Looking forward to mining the threads for all useful tips :)

Hi all,

I picked up a T6 a few weeks back and have been on this forum a bit so thought I'd introduce myself. I've been a Porsche enthusiast for many years and pleased to find out that just as much money (and time) can be invested in vans (if not more!). I picked up a camper converted T28 2017 in black, it was converted in 2020 and doesn't seem to have been used that much since. It's not a daily, but is the only vehicle we have that can carry the whole family, which includes a couple of dogs (Ridgebacks) so should be used fairly regularly.

So far, I've put a new Fogstar drift battery in with lots of help from the this forum, changed some bulbs to leds (left the main headlights halogen, but upgraded to some nightbreakers) and again with help from this forum I put a new digitiser on the infotainment (one third of the screen wasn't responding) and updated the s/w and maps. Then added Apple Car play. When I got the van I excitedly bought a set of B14 coilovers (Bilsteins are well respected in the Porsche world), but after reading on here I probably should have gone down a different route. I have to say I'm initially pleased with them, but time will tell if they hold up.

Here's some pics, the last one on the new suspension.

Welcome to the show - awesome looking van and you have done the right thing dropping it.

Bilsteins are a sore topic for me as I have a leaky damper that is £350 to replace before labour - no doubt cheaper options could have been sourced but I don't do research well.
I have no XP of other coilovers so can't advise but I think so long as you aren't hitting speed bumps at speed and you are used to avoiding potholes (I'd imagine you are) the coilovers should last you - there is a warranty/guarantee for bilsteins that I believe have served people well also.

Lovely interior as well!

More pics in unusual locations are still required btw
