Hidden Clips And Punching Holes Through Carpet

Afternoon all


I’m assuming if using 5mm ply that I’ll need different hidden clips? I’ve tried the OEM and it’s just not going to work.
Assume these from Kiravans will do the trick;
Long Panel Fixing Clips - Light Grey (Pack of 25)


How are you making the hole through the carpet? Just a big Philips screwdriver? Any tricks?

Now I did think of that one but thought it’d make a mess of my soldering iron.

I’ve just ordered some longer clips.
Stuipd question, do you insert the female part of the clip into the van metalwork, add the male part to the ply and carpet over then line up and push on?

I used a drill in reverse so as not to snag the carpet

So I used the hot ‘nail’ idea, in this case an old 8mm drill bit. Tested it on an old piece of carpet and it was perfect! Thanks @Skyliner33
