Help please , my van is going in to be lined out in January at Absolut5 plus other work one question the idiot who ply lined the van has put holes in the floor when fixing it down any ideas or advice on how to fill said holes or seal them up before a nice new floor goes in ?need to make it water tight as the last thing I need is the holes letting in water under my nice new floor any advice greatly accepted thanks kev b

Mine had the exact same thing. Talking to a Main Dealer, I was told at least 95% of the vans with ply floor had the same method of fixings.

I used to line vans as part of my work, and it absolutely horrifies me that people drive BZP wood screws into the floor of the van. It bloody retarded and voids the vehicles anti perforation warranty immediately.
I always bonded my floors down with Sikaflex.
I would suggest a corrosion treatment is applied to the bare metal and then the hole filled with a good quality windscreen sealant. I would also try and apply some form of waxoil to the damaged floor from underneath. ( if possible ).
Can't belive that many van dealers allow this to happen on thier premises.

Kev.
PM a message to xpfloyd.
He had the same issues before his first class conversion. Maybe he could advise.

To them it's just a van and a sale. Some don't give a toss.

When screws are driven through the metal and removed there is usually a sharp burr , so my treatment was to de-burr with an oversize bit, then treat with a dot of primer then paint. Finally a dot of waxoil and a square of denso tape, each side if possible. If you haven't heard of denso tape it is a very heavily impregnated cloth tape with a very thick paste that can be smoothed out and is totally water proof and does not come off without help.

I once fitted a snazzy front fork holder gadget for my road bike in my old van, only to smell fuel 2 days later..
I took it back to Vauxhall and thrusted the keys into the service managers hand and told him my van has a fuel leak and as it's only a month old, I want it fixing pronto. He called me later and explained some idiot had drilled a hole through the top of the tank fitting a gadget in the rear, and i'd have to foot the bill.. Needless to say I never admitted it was me! Lesson learnt.

That’s why I asked the dealer not to fit the ply lining I would do it my self.
The people that do this should be shot ,how would they like it if we put screws through there front wing.
I would use a hammer to flatten out and put metal filler or sicker flex to seal the hole.
Don’t forget to put some primer on to stop the rust.
Good luck
