Hope someone can help? VW Stereo

So I have a VW stereo headunit out of my new 2024 transporter (3CN035869E) I have it up for sale in the classified section but I’ve had someone ask a question I’m puzzled by

So my unit allows car play but a possible buyer with a 2022 model with the same unit (same code) doesn’t allow and has been told needs a part off VW for over £100 to allow?

Can these units be coded and mine has been coded to allow this?? Or is that a part left in my van that need to work with it? Also these aren’t coded to the vehicle they come out of and can work plug and play with another transporter?

Headunits are individually coded to the VIN at the factory. They need to be 'cracked' to work in a different vehicle. You can't just swap from one vehicle to another.

It is a Saturday evening and I guess every one is preoccupied and very soon your question will perhaps get burred after everyone returns and gets posting . I am not suggesting that it will not be answered here but is more likely to get a response over there. Their are lots of experts and people with more relevant experience who may spend more time on certain areas of the forum. Any way good luck with you radio.
