Currently running 245/40/20 on the front of our van looking at 265/45/20 I’m not lowered yet but could be happening in the future! How do I tell if those 265’s will go without buying them and trying them?

What size alloy tyre combo looks best if not changing ride height?
As above. I’m not planning on lowering at the moment so what sized alloy and tyre combo looks best at standard height?
Hi @GavMc P11GT you’d also need to consider your wheel size and offset when comparing. A good website I use is ‘wheeltheyfit’ - you can compare existing setup with new and it’ll give Speedo discrepancies and radius changes.
I’m changing my wheels next month for some 20” alloys. I’ll be running 265/40/20 on the front and rears lowered around 50/60mm. Image attached is a van I’ve seen that I’ve copied the set up of. Alloys on the front are 20” 9J ET40 running 265/40/20 tyres, rear are 10.5J ET40 with the same tyre.
EDIT: I’m currently running 275/40/20 on my current setup with slight tyre rub on the front inner arches. 265 will just give enough clearance not to rub at those heights.

Hi so had a look at my wheel all I can see is 20x8.5 I gather 8.5 is the width? Would 265/45/20’s go? As I say we aren’t lowered yet and when the time comes I’ll not be slamming it as such!
Hi @GavMc P11GT you’re correct, the 8.5 is the width. I’m not the best with tyre size recommendations based on alloy widths but I previously had some 20” x 8.5J alloys with 255/40/20 tyres fitted rated correctly for my T28. I believe a 265 would fit but would look a little more bulbous but as above my knowledge In this subject is limited
Search tyre width chart and it will give you a list of tyre widths vs rim width
If it helps. These were my 20” x 8.5J alloys with a 255/40/20 tyre fitted. I don’t have any other photos unfortunately
