Something like these:
Not too thick, so the board fits as close to the seat base as possible, and with a countersunk hole to allow the screw head to be flush.

Hi....We had sticky back Velcro....it sits very close no gaps and can be removed easily.......but there are many solutions as said
(got some heavy duty stuff from Dunelm...sell it by the metre )
