Hunter Wheel Alignment Recommendations in Herts/Beds/Bucks

Hi

Just got an alignment done at my local tyre centre and although they have been good over the years for my basic tyre requirements it seems doing an alignment on a customised vehicle may be a bit beyond their abilities!

So does anyone have any suggestions for places to go for hunter alignments in the Herts/Beds/Bucks area?

@Spaghettiboy78 has already kindly suggested his recommendation, K M Autos in Rickmansworth. So I’ll probably give these guys a go but I thought it what help to have all the recommendations on a thread for everyone to find the best option for them.

I'm taking my T6 to A1 German Car Specialists in Stevenage next week, for the very same thing. Seem to get good reviews online.
Will let you know how I get on...

Just spotted this post is from 2020 ;) Did you get sorted?

No, I actually left it and have checked the wear over the last year and it’s pretty even across the tyre so I guess I’m happy but I did go back and argue whether the alignment should be done full or empty and I think we ended up as half full as a compromise.

let us know how you get on

Not sure what the fascination is with “Hunter” - if the operator is pants….!

Food for thought…. Had my alignment done at a German Porsche specialist ( so so pleased with results) …I’ve had aligament done before at so called experts using top notch tools…but if you peanuts you get monkeys…….
Moral… you’d never expect a cheap spray job on your pride and joy, so why not pay for the services…the likes of the big tyre dealers are all times based for jobs….why pay for speed of service…Pay for Quality

But £250!

We charge £80+vat for standard Hunter alignment that’s not included with a suspension fitment. This is includes full setup and alignment up to 3/4 hour labour.
Our standard labour rate applies for Extra adjustments over this initial time, if it is a complex setup - camber adjustments, polybushing etc

Im not sure what you are getting for your £250, as I don’t know tha garage setup, but bare in mind the Hunter Elite setup is around £30-35k all in to purchase. It’s a massive investment. It not just a £1-2k set of gauges…..

Wheels In Motion / Blackboots (same company) in Chesham are excellent. I'm on a few performance car forums too and they're the go-to guys in the area, though people do travel from further afield. We use them for the daily runarounds too as they're just round the corner for me, though haven't yet needed them for the van.

They have the full Hunter set up if it's needed.

I used Adams and Page in High Wycombe. They have 2 Hunter bays, one has a longer ramp, to accommodate vans. A minor adjustment cost me £45, bargain!!!!

I used to use them when I lived in north London. Agreed; they have always been fantastic

Thanks, good to know, especially since they are local to me. A recommendation is always useful for something that might not be immediately noticable after it’s done. As someone else has mentioned, the set-up is only as good as the person doing it.

I think some of that £250 goes to pay someone to dig pot-holes around here!

Had my alignment done this week at A1 German Car Specialists in Stevenage.
They took off my Devonports, put on some new wheels that I bought along with spacers etc., then did full alignment. Ended up costing around £160. Hunter set up plus 4 adjustments.
Can’t recommend them enough. Customer Service was first rate

Did they give you a before and after scan of the alignment?

Yeah they did
I had my car done at TyrePros in Stevenage Old Town a couple of years ago. The ‘before’ scan looked like I had been driving a shopping trolley. Scary how much adjustment sometimes needs to be made!

Yeah for sure. There’s a hell of a lot less red on the ‘after’ sheet!
Feels so much smoother on the road too
