@rmo69 , I'd hanker towards the 204, but that is me.. And I didn't want to suggest it before you had expressed it.. Take time deciding as they have no right to rush you in your decisions, as you have been through a lot, and been more than patient.. @Twoguns having been through a similar situation, I seriously doubt they'll cover the full cost of buying and reinstalling all your mods on a replacement vehicle. Whether or not they should is irrelevant, they will try and get away with what they think they can. Make sure they know that you're savvy when it comes to statutory law so at least they will not try and take the pi$$.

Private buyers do not have to worry about the VAT

If I was in your situation I would demand a full power plant, transmission, fuel and ECU replacement. Get them to rip the lot out and start again.
