Adrian Flux gave me a multi car discount - £265 Fully Comp. £350 excess. They were really good and I have a year to complete the conversion on my shuttle. It is insured for the Converted Van Value - fyi. Worth a call - I have been with them for 3 years with my modified Landie.
 
I found A Plan very good. They shopped around and came up with the best price for me. They were cheaper than all the compare internet sites and use ‘known’ companies.
 
Hi Micky - I have a commercial policy with my first "blingy" van and A-plan were spot on - I was expecting an "ouch" when I talked through the mods on my new van but it was no hassle and quick - great price and if you mention you are on this forum they give a discount
 
lifesure.co.uk (specialises in camper van & motorhome). saved me a lot, had silly quotes from the usual company's. got it for about £340 (off the top of my head) with the wife as a named driver. male 49, female 48 as a named driver & includes the going abroad trip.
 
Comfort have been the cheapest for me in the 2yrs I've had the T6. Very competent and friendly setting up the policy, but can't speak for the service following a claim as thankfully never had one
 
I tried a company recommended by the camping and caravanning club 1st and then tried A-plan (thatcham office), A plan were really and also cheaper than the other company. I'd recommend them
 
Im getting my dads T6 next week. Its converted to a camper and has been re classified as a motor caravan by the DVLA.
It has other mods like alloys side bars and extra windows.
Im 30 years old and have more than 9 years no claims.
Is there any particular companies i should try first?
My dad is currently with brentcare so will try them also.

Hi @Chris Grenfell and welcome to the forum there are loads of companies out there and plenty to chose from if you do a search, me personally my van is similar spec to yours and this year i'm with caravan guard last year was Hics and next year will be someone else.

I don't think there is one particularly insurance company that are better than the others, my advice would be to hit the telephone and ring around

Brentacre or A-plan are two of the more popular.

We payed £400, no claims mirrored of another van (9 years)

A plan came out cheapest for me (or rather, for my business). They mirrored my NCB from my other car, as the business didn't have any NCB.
 
My insurance is up on the 13th and I’m currently with Greenlight but haven’t received there renewal yet so gave them a call today and was told that they would look into it and email me in a couple of hours, asked if I could get it as soon as possible as I’m out the country next week when it’s due. Four hours later still nothing. Called A-plan twice today and still waiting for a call back as all the advisors are busy. Brentacre have phoned me with a price after I filled in there online form but won’t email me the quote. Hell it’s hard work insuring a T6:)
