Hi, I’ve received a quote from Howden but when I’ve mentioned the conversion specialist as well as DOC and Van Cave, they can only give me 10% discount off the admin fee which is only £7. Is this right or are folks getting 10% off the actual premium?

I always suspected the 'discount' was bs. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
When I got a quote from old Adrian Flux, then I would pipe up about the 10% and they would say words to the effect that 'obviously we have taken that off already, sir'.
If you tell them about the 10% before the quote they go 'obviously we will take the 10% off, sir'.
The only way you would be sure of getting the 10% is to go into an insurance shop, get the quote, then bring up the subject of the discount, sir.
