Hi all,
Looking to buy a 2024 t6.1 in the next few weeks and I’ve been getting some insurance quotes to see what I might end up paying. I’ll be installing a tracker and I think I have 8 years no claims. Quotes I’m getting are around £1200. I’m 51 too

Any good place to get a quote from ins appreciated

Try Howdens - good people to deal with and, in my experience, reasonably priced.

The best one I keep getting is from LV. I try all these camper ones mentioned in this forum over the many threads on it and not one come close. LV we’re not accepting new campers at one point but that was a while ago so worth a try?
We always do alright with Lexham on the motorbike and I think, although they don’t do cars, they might do campers.

It's not curious at all - their strategy is to have a separate brand (Comfort) that deals specifically with campers & motorhomes. I don't know the history, but I'd guess Aviva acquired an exiting specialist insurer rather than go the costly & time-consuming route of building expertise outside of their core business.

Another for Brentacre. They were the cheapest for me and the policy allows any mods that aren’t power increasing.

After 9 years I am about o sack Brentacre. My new VW T6.1 MoHo they want £800 and a tracker fitted. My t6 with them is < £500pa.

Just tried them. Cheaper than them all but they have a strange rule on the website. They can only quote you, online, if you are not retired, a student or you will not be using it for work.

Class of Use: Social domestic and pleasure including class 1 business use unless occupation input is one of the following:

• Retired
• Student
• Unemployed
• Houseperson

So I called in and they need to go through it over the phone.

However at £602 with European cover, Legal and some other goodies I'll be biting their hand off when I get the vehicle.
