Interior Lights / Rear Lights Not Working

hello every one my name is dan I have a 2017 vw transporter and the interior lights or rear side lights do not work I have changed the 7.5a fuse in the fuse box next to gear stick as it was blown but it still does not work ?
I have attached a picture also the fuse I have put in until I can get a 7.5a is a 10a on the bottom left

Hi Dan, exactly the same thing happened to me. In my case just changing the fuse did not solve the problem - it turns out that sometimes the computer which controls the lights gets itself in a bit of a twist when a fuse pops.
Mine fixed itself after I turned on the ignition, waited a few secs, turned it off. Had a cup of tea then went out and started the engine and it suddenly all worked.
If this fails then I am told disconnecting the battery and reconnecting can also reset the computer.
Hope it works for you, fingers crossed.

I would agree, I would try in this order and moving on if it doesn’t work

cycle the ignition a couple times

lock the van and leave it to sleep for a while

disconnect the main battery for a few minutes

use VCDS or Carista to software reset any active fault codes

Just a update I have left the battery of now but I realised before I disconnected it that the front side lights don’t work either is there any other fuses connected to this ?

Thanks
Dan

Just another update I have got the lights all back working now but when I put the light switch to door opening it works and when you lock the van it goes of but if you start the engine the lights all stay on permanently on? Unless I turn the switch to the of Poston any ideas on that one ? Thanks

Hi I've just had the same problem. Not got tail lights or interior lights and the indicator lights on the dash for lights not working. I have tried disconnecting the battery and no joy. What was your fix? Aside from interior lights still playing up.

Hi mate I sorted my problem the rear lights were wired up wrong which was causing the problem with them not going of when on the door switch and the fuse I replaced was in the wrong hole the bottom left and side where the 7.5a fuse is there’s 2 holes

Ok thank you. I've just won too. Finally found that 7.5A fuse in bottom left had gone. After checking it and taking it out don't know how many times. Think I popped it replacing the side door interior lights with larger LEDs. My bad.

Great stuff I had the fuse in the a blank hole and tested it with my test light and it had power after realising it was in the wrong fuse slot I changed it over and it worked, at least you have sorted it ;)

Any pics of where the fuse was? I have the same issue with mine put the new leds in the back and then the tail lights stopped working
