Interior lights switch on with slider but not with tailgate opening

any one know why my interior lights work ok on side doors but not on tail gate is it a fault or me doing something stupid (t6 panel van)

Does the tailgate show as open on the dash ? Could be a faulty door switch

thanks hadn't thought to check that , it doesn't show so guess the switch ,do you know where it is hidden

Its part of the central locking motor within the tailgate
May be worth checking it locking/dead locking and unlocking correctly
