I've recently fitted my inverter however I've accidently touched the live and its blown the fuse. Its an inline fuse box housed under my drivers seat. I cant tell the ampage however another similar fuse for the smart charger uses 60a so guessing it may be the same. Anyone know where i can source the fuse, cant seem to find it anywhere searching online (not sure if it has a special name etc)
Also, i would
Possibly like to extend the cable so without fitting a completely new cable in one stretch, is there another way of safely extending? It has the ring connector on the end id like to extend and I've found some extra cable with ring connectors either end in halfords so wondered if i can just add them on in a safe way
Cheers

got a pic?

could be any number of different fuses?

60A could be a MIDI fuse?

Brilliant! Cheers dellmassive. Does 60amp sound about right as im only going off what is in the other inline fuse for the smart charger?
Also do u have any clue as to how i can extend the cables for the inverter?

What size watts inverter?

It's normally 100A per 1000w. (Ish)

So 60A would be 600w (ish)

But depends on cable gauge and length.

Post some pics of.

Inverter.
Cable feeding it.
Battery connections.
Ground connections.

...
Cables can be extended. But from where to where?

Again got a pic or two?

It’s gotta be bigger than 60a if it’s a proper invertor !

The cable is too short, it can be passed thru the back of panels when i finally fit it and into the kitchen cupboard hopefully

That says it needs 110A for installed... Max power.

Are you just using the supplied leads and fuse?

Over 40A is BIG power and needs careful installation and care that the cable is correctly rated and correctly fused.

Post a few pics of the install.

The cable etc came with the inverter and was from rayne automotive as was the whole setup so i am happy its up to the job. I can get the same cable with ring connectors from halfords however i dont know what to use to connect the ring connectors together and then maybe use the heat shrink plastic covers to seal or whether there is a more substantial connector i can use instead. Obvs i want it to be safe but at the moment the inverter wont reach to the back cupboard so wish to extend so itll reach to there.

If you pull 1000w out of that at mains voltage you are looking at around 85-90 amps @ 12 volts
