Inverter

Hi All
Can anyone recommend an inverter with an output around 1000 Watts? I would rather have one I could wire the outputs to than one with a built in socket
Also can anyone confirm that the units such as Vitron that come with a remote consume no current when switched off (ie the remote works the input side not the output?
Failing that is there any disadvantage to putting a battery cut-out switch in line with the inverter to stop it constantly sapping power from the leisure battery
Cheers

Thanks and does the remote switched off mean that the inverter consumes no current at all?

The remote is just a hard wired switch that you can mount away from the inverter. So yes, no current consumption when it's off.

Victron, Cotek, Samlex, Sterling, Renogy

- yes, when "off" they effectively only draw micro amps.

- yes you can do that, but for every 1000W you will be drawing 100A . . . . so you need a isolator switch that can handle the current . . . ie 100A . . . so most inverters come with the low amps remote switch you mentioned above.
