Is it possible a T6.1 is SFD2 protected ?

Hello,

I bought a reverse camera and installed it but impossible to code it with vcds 21.9. I got this error for every calculator if I do a full check scan :

No ASAM data is available for this calculator

So I asked Ross Tech to buy an official one and gave them my vin code and fabrication date (06/2023), and hope to get the latest hex v2 but they told me they don't have a solution for me because since 2023 they have seen VW t6.1 with SFD and SFD2. And they don't have a solution for that...

I asked obdeleven they told me it may not be possible I have SFD2 since it's only vehicle from 2024.

So I ask you here... ?

I don't think so - a MY24 T6.1 scan below - no SFD or SFD2 onboard

vcds 21.9.
to buy an official one
abrication date (06/2023)
Perhaps it's indeed time to upgrade...

That's so weird. Why the creators of vcds told me that...they don't want to sell an official one to me or what...
I'll test a 24.7 version on Amazon and do a full scan to see if I have SFD2...if not I'll sent it back and buy the official one since the official one I can't return it for free...

Just to double check, have you popped the bonnet open while you do it? I have to do this on my 2021 for it to access the various modules.

Really I was not aware of that !? It was not wide open no. But it was not full closed either, just unlocked, I can open it from the outside, since I was charging my battery. I'll try open before testing with the 24.7 version.

Ah ok, that's what I meant, basically recognised as open on the dash but doesn't necessarily have to be elevated.

That's the second question about SFD/SFD2 recently...

Has something changed in the last Transporters (that seems unlikely as at end of the run) or is it confusion from the VCDS maintainers spreading to other commercial operations?

On this topic it is about kufatec.
I was talking to Ross Tech french support for many days, I sent them a log of the scan of my vehicule with vcds 21.9. even with that they kept telling me impossible to tell me if it only has SFD or if it has SFD+SFD2...since my old vcds don't give information about it. We will see with the 24.7 version I'll keep you updated here.

When I had my 72reg t6.1 I was able to fit and code the RVC, with OBDELEVEN pro.
I was speaking to someone who as both vcds and licence odis. He seems to think vcds is kind of had its day. A lot more software companies that are investing a lot in to R&D in the newer SFD protected modules. Obdeleven is one if them.

No SFD protection on these modules. I think it only applies on the mqb platform.

Have SFD on my 2023 caddy which I had to do a 2 step authentication process to read the modules.

RVC on the gateway. The red circle is because I didn't do a calibration with the domino board. But it workd perfectly.
