Is This Standard Vw Sound Deadening ?

Hi all,

Just had the inner side panels off in prep for sound proofing / insulating and see that there is already mats fitted by VW. However not sure if this is their std amount or the enhanced option that they offer. Also when applying new silent coat would you simply fill in the gaps around the existing mat, cover the existing mat (i.e. double up) or remove it and start again ?

Thought's / Comments greatly appreciated...

Go over the hard stuff, the wooly type stuff, get shut of, plastic scraper and ipa works well

Sorry, agreed with this above. We remove the soft foam first but leave the other in place and go over it.
