I recently noticed a few knocks on start up . Knowing i needed a new flywheel & engine mount i had them changed but the knock is still there . Drives / steers fine just on initial start up i get a few clunks then goes . VW had my van recently for a timing belt / water pump & DSG service & they come back with an advisory of “front top mounts noisy” I’m wondering if it could be this ? Cheers
Top mounts are suspension.
If the knock happens before you even move, it's not top mounts.

Loud engine start / idle
T6 LWB DSG & I’ve noticed on ignition of the engine it’s got a judder / clunk & when sat ticking over in park it sounds quite rattley & loud . When a gear is selected it goes away . Could this be worn engine / gearbox mounts? Cheers
Diesels are slightly noisy for a short period on start up, did the VW dealer comment on engine noise when they did the cam belt and DSG service?

No VW didn’t mention it . When the engines ticking over it sounds kind of loud . It is a 204bhp tho . I have a video & it’s pretty hard to notice on camera . It’s not letting me upload a video tho . I had the gear box wngime mount changed . Am i correct in saying there are more?
