knocking noise when gears engaged towards inside front wheel - sounds like driving over a loose drain but feels completely fine to drive

I had clutch and DMF done about 6 months ago so doubting it’s anything there. Sound only comes on when I’m actually driving, not when I’m off the accelerator or free wheeling, so don’t think it’s a stone in the tyre either. When the clutch was done they managed to damage the CV boot which I had replaced at a different garage, so maybe drive shaft?

splines rusted or worn , slipping, removed several drive shafts and seen splines almost worn smooth, or when refitted they didnt tighten the hub bolt and its sheering away over time , probably the driveshaft slipping and catching making a clunk.
