Knocking When Hot

I have a 2018 T6 camper. Noticed the odd knock that seems to come from underside of vehicle after an hours travel. Doesn't happen at start of journey but when engine is hot. Seems be when slowing down or driving in a gear too low. Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.

could be a million things.

you might need to narrow it down a bit.

accelerating?
decelerating?
braking?
in gear? out gear?
etc etc etc.

might be worth taking to your local MOT garage and asking them to take a look at it up on the ramp. . . to see if its anything obvious?

i do this when i buy a second-hand car - i never trust the MOT thats on it. - so i ask them to do a dummy run MOT, a full MOT but not logged on the DVLA/VOSA system.

that can highlight anything that needs looking at.

It appears to be while decelerating in 2nd or 3rd gear and engine is hot. Not braking or steering

Too right, a friend of mine just bought a Freelander that’s hanging, was MOT’d the day before. All marked as ‘advisories’, his repair bill is estimated as as much as he paid for the vehicle. ‘Sold as Seen’.

any way you can get a vdeo clip of it?

and post the link to that here?

If anybody manages to diagnose this via the Forum they should buy a lottery ticket this week.
As @Dellmassive said earlier, IMO visit a garage sooner rather than later.
