Trying to locate a knocking sound. There is no knocking at all with serpentine belt off, and now, after replacing things, there is only the occasional knock… but there is still a knock.
Van in question is a T6 2016 Multivan Highline 204 hp, CXEB.
At first it was extremely loud, and located it to alternator. Replaced alternator.
Knocking reduced but still present. Took it in for AC service. Tested system and replaced AC compressor.
Knocking reduced even further, but there is still the occasional knock. Nothing can be heard from inside the car or when driving (from inside the car then). But, when stepping out of the car the occasional knock can be heard.
Belt and tensioner replaced earlier this year.
At the moment I’m out of ideas, so thought I’d post a thread for some brainstorming.
Since it’s completely silent with serpentine belt off, I’m at least ruling out engine, or can anyone figure why it still could be engine related?
