Kombi floor mounts removal.

Happy new year everyone.
Please can someone advise me if the fuel tank has to be dropped to remove the rear triple seat brackets in a t6 kombi swb. Im wanting to prep my van for flooring and seat bed conversion.
Many thanks.

Been a while since I did my Kombi conversion and had to drop the diesel tank to fit the plates for mounting a single seat on the nearside which allowed access to the nearside bolts but to access the ones on the offside was going to require removing heat shielding and various undertray parts which became a PITA so used a disc cutter to remove them from the top side. Obviously destroying the brackets in the process but much easier and an option if you’re not wishing to keep the mountings.

Thanks for the info. In that case i think ill be fitting a night heater then at the same time. Seems to make sence.

That would definitely be a good plan as you would probably have to drop the fuel tank to fit the supply for the heater and would save double work. One thing I forgot about ,it’s an age thing well that’s my excuse, is my vans a 4 motion and it was the drive shaft and associated gubbins that made access more awkward. If your van is fwd might be a bit easier.

Yes phil they will be but it will be with the immaculate cond triple seat, seatbelts and cushion floor.

Well if by some miracle someone wants just the bench I might be in the market for brackets and mat, mines a bit scuffed

As long as it’s not too wet tomorrow I’ll hopefully be underneath mine removing my brackets @zad0101 so will let you know. Although if I do my usual I’ll probably get soaked but at least get them off!

I was hoping taking the floor might sway the sale of brackets haha. Might just put a rug down for now. Thanks anyway

Well it didn’t stop raining but I got underneath to find everything is covered by heat shields so that’s a job for a dry weekend
