Kombi - Rear Seating Arrangement

Bit of a strange one, I currently have a triple folding Kombi seat in the rear, this has mounting in the floor centre. My question is could I remove this and would a single seat clip in the same fittings ? Giving me room either side.
Thanks

I think you can. The shuttle has the triple bench in the rear to. The mid row seats are singles. The foot print off the triple is the same as the mid row centre single seat. The centre single also has its seatbelt integrated into the seat itself. However the mid row single side seats have a narrower footprint and also need the side pillar mounted seat belts, so they wont work. Have a look at the picture. The dimples on the floor are the locations where the floor brackets fit. Note the centre locating points are wider than those at the sides. So in short, you need a Shuttle mid row single seat (must be the centre seat) to achieve what your after. Not the single seat from a kombi.

Just realised I still have this photo also. Clearly shows the different footprint widths.

Thanks for supplying the photos, I guess thinking about it now the fittings on the triple would need to be wider to stop it potentially leaning to one side ? I hardly use the triple seat now and would rather lose the seating and gain the space for maybe a kitchen pod.

Just as a heads up. The 3 seater rear bench seems to be the same measurements as a middle 2nd row singles.
Didnt have a tape measure but by my wire length they are exactly the same ;-)

Hi
How easy are the extra fittings to install without a ramp? I wish to convert from a triple bench to three single seats

If this is for row 2 then the fuel tank needs dropping so not a simple task.

Yes - drivers seat R1, R2 in line with the sliding door(s) and R3 in the cargo area.

Yes you will need to get access under the fuel tank for 2nd row fixings. 3rd row you should be ok, worst case would be needing to lower the tank at that end, thats pretty easy compared to the 2nd row.

Just raising this subject again. Has anyone managed to swop the triple for a centre single ? I've contacted two conversion companies that have told me it cant be done, so im a bit confused now.
Thanks to those that previously gave advice.

The 2nd row seat mountings are the same for a tripple and a centre single.

I can remove my 2nd row tripple seat and put my centre single seat in its place.

I even put this on the T5/T6 facebook forum and got shot down hence my confusion, I didn't want to lay out the cash and find out I've wasted my money.

Here is the single shuttle seat I have for sale clipped into the brackets for the bench seat in the back of my SWB (row 3)

The only alteration you would have to make for row 2 seating (immediately behind the driver) is with 2 & 1 Kombi seats where you would need an extra 2 floor brackets installing.
