Kombi step question!!

Hello All,
My panel van arrived today for conversion, I ordered a twin slider. I found it strange that the side steps fitted to the van while both have the step lights fitted, the step on the left passenger side has the light on the rear side on the step towards the rear of the van and the step on the right drivers side has the step light fitted at the front of the step towards the drivers seat. Is this the normal setup up!! I would have assumed they should both be on the rear side towards the rear of the van so just looks a little strange to me but maybe its normal. I would appreciate any comments

thats normal.. vw use the same step turned around for other side..

Ah that's good to known thanks for the reply I thought it was some fu*ker just being lazy and thinking 'ah that will do grand'

They are being lazy in a way, cuts the manufacturing cost down they don't have to produce a second step one side fits all
