Has anyone had experience tapping into pin 8 - high beam - with H4 headlights to activate a light bar?
With lights on dip, it still reads 2v.
I'm more of a mechanic than an electrics guy, I just wondered if that was enough to activate the relay - which, of course, I don't want.
I just got a ready-made loom that came with its own switch that wants 12v power (no idea if it's 12v or less) to activate it, so I've no info about the relay - that's already been ripped apart by me as it's not what I want to do.
I intend to switch the "trigger" wire to choose whether the high beam activates it or it's permanently off.
simplified: will 2v trigger a typical relay from a typical light bar loom kit, or should I look at sticking a resistor in there or changing the relay?
obvs I could dry run it tomorrow but I'm lazy and it's gonna rain tomorrow.
